Romania: Children with Hydrocephalus

In Romania, each year more than 600 children will be diagnosed with hydrocephalus (HWKR), known to us, born as hydrocephalus. This state is caused by the accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid, which can not flow. Thus, the children suffer irreversible brain damage.

There is a relatively simple treatment option with a high success rate, operational supply with a "shunt" = drain valve. A shunt costs about € 400 plus operating costs, computer tomography and medications.
Our partner, "Actions - Foundation for People in Need" cares for years among other things, to needy people in Romania.
