India: Support of 270 handicapped children

Target group of the project are poor farmer families in the federal state of Tamil Nadu. Impediment is in India seen as a punishment of the gods. Handicapped children are excluded from the social life. However, if impediments are recognised early and the children are promoted accordingly, they can take part quite normally in the social village life and learn even a profession. That is the point where the project of the Indian partner organisation SOSSAC takes effect. Hearing-impaired children receive hearing aids and learn the sign language. Spiritually handicapped children are enabled to live a normal life by getting a long-term promotion of their talents. The project is carried out in 60 villages in the rural surroundings by Dindigul.
